Fishing NE SD Lakes

I'm looking for a little guidance.  I am headed to the Sisseton area to visit family late next week.  I'm hauling my quad with tracks and Frabill down there to do a little ice fishing.  I have done quite a bit of research on netting reports etc., but my family down there is not into fishing, so no help there.  Lakes I'm thinking about trying is of course Waubay, Pickerel, Reetz and Bitter.  I plan to target perch, eyes and happy to catch some bonus gills or crappie.  Should I look for some smaller, less pressured lakes, or is this a good starting point?  I'm not looking for GPS points here, just lakes in general others enjoy fishing.  I will happily accept PM's as well.

Thanks in advance!

Call the Sportsman Cove out of Webster and get the updated fishing report.

Pickerel for crappie. Waubay or bitter for perch and walleye. Sportsman cove is a good spot for info and bait.

Well that will be one of my closest options.

Netting reports show good sizes of perch there too.  This was definitely one of my target lakes.

Does anyone know much about Reetz lake?  Its a little further drive from where I'm staying, but their netting reports show that lake holds large perch and walleye.....

To be honest, you should hit up sloughs and punch some holes. We've hammered big eyes and perch on some no name puddles.

Limit on Reetz is 1 Walleye over 28" incase you are looking for a limit.

Well, I met a guy up there at a few family events I've been to who keeps telling me he'll take me fishing and show me some "back holes" full of big perch and walleye.  It sounds like he's going to take me as long as its not too cold out.  He's older and not a big fan of fishing when it's really cold.  So I am just building some contingency in case he decides he doesn't want to go.  I know better than to just expect him to take me out.
And yes, I'm bringing the quad with tracks so I don't have to worry about nice access or snow.  So I won't be afraid to try some sloughs if they look promising.  Thanks for the advice!

Yeah I'm just downloading the SD handbook because I seen a mention of that.  So that is the slot there?  Only one over 28" and none below?

Yes, I believe that is correct. Their trying to make it a trophy lake. Opitz is a good lake to catch a lot of nice eater size walleye as well. All of the other suggestions are good as well. I like Roy as well, but have never gone there ice fishing. Big fish and just about all kinds as well. I will be in the area next week as well, if my in laws have a better report when I get there on Tuesday I can let you know.

The ssportsman cove will tell ya things are slow or you should've been here last week most often unless your local, hit the bait shot in waubay, and hit bitter just down the road, head out of the public access and stay left of the dead trees, nice 10"hole just south of the little point, puch a dozen holes, walleye, big perch and pike will be found, enimy swin swim and roy lake are a good bet as well.Great area...

I live in Webster and fish these lakes and sloughs.  Slough fishing is best but many are private so won't mention those but..Pias lake has been the best as of lately. But think it may be slowing a bit.  Has been good for eyes and perch.  Not very far from Sisseton.  Enemy is decent for gills right now.

I love the big lake but some time miss fishing the sloughs like I did growing up in watertown.
