No I have not tried flies but have seen people do it with success. I do the exact same as you pulling spinner with crawlers. Last year there were tons of 1- 2lb ers in the creek but they were not hitting during my last trip. I hope they survived the winter ok. Just look for 1-3 guys with cold bud lights catching trout and maybe a buzz:)

Thanks Eatcarp, I'll look for ya. I'll be in a red lund as well. I did catch some nice 3-4lb rainbows last summer using spinners w/crawlers by the rocks. I moved up here last spring from the Black Hills. Love fly fishing trout but didn't have any luck last year. They must not have recognized my South Dakota flies:) Ever try flies here?

I'm heading out this weekend to investigate this bass situation. Last time I was here was in the fall when we were outfished by a mink. He pulled a trout on shore and kept looking up at the boat and making a strange noise. Pretty sure it was laughter. Time for round 2.

Sportsman... I think I saw you on the rocks, I was the red lund boat , After you left I caught a monster Rainbow about 150 yards down from where you told me you lost him. You had joked about the finger nail marks on the fish as you almost grabbed him and got a wet foot. If it wasn't you this story won't make sense but 99% sure it was. The rainbow I caught was 23 1/2 " weighing in at 5 1/2 lbs. Found out later it was a whopper and was gonna release him but was spitting blood pretty bad. Also caught a 4 1/4 lb Brown. Got one kinda crappy picture of the rainbow. Tough to judge size. Will try to send it in and see what ya think, Didn't get close enough on pic to show the finger nail prints though. He did have 3 large scratches about 6 inches up from tail.

Fished Fish Creek on Saturday. Caught a couple of nice Browns that put up a great fight. Lost a REALLY nice rainbow right at the rocks that fought about as well as a small stick. Tried everything on all areas of the lake and was not able to get one Bass anywhere. I was out there from before sun-up to early afternoon. Trout went in streaks - NO BASS. Talked to another guy out there trolling around in his bass boat. Asked him if he had caught any bass. He said not a one yet this year at all. I told him that I heard someone had been slaughtering the bass out there (didn't say where I heard it). He said that it sounded like a Fishing Buddy "fish story" to him. He was laughing as he trolled off.

Well im not making anything up about catching them. honestly ive never caught so many bass on a spinner standing in one area..i know they arent "suppose" to be biting yet but right now the biggest bass are on the move and once it warms up well be nailing them even more. Trust me though, i did bring in that many..kinda dissapointed yall think you know everything...pretty cocky for being wrong. anyway fished the creek again today, early morning hours and pulled in 4 large, 1 smallmouth...fish on

Thanks, Fishing shallow ?? just wondering as rainbows were very abundant last year in the 1 lb to 2 lb range in 8-15 ft. I lost what I am guessing a 6 Lb at the boat that might have made it to the wall. Caught that one in about 27 feet.
