If you have front wheel drive, you should be able to even get back up the hill from the last access in the SE corner. We parked on the ice, right next to shore, as did 3 or 4 other guys. With all the snow on the ice, even driving on it would have been hairy even if the ice was thick enough. You should be able to get close enough though. Good luck. Stay shallow.

The road wasn't too bad from the turn off to the lake access. Once you turn south to the lake, there were some drifts, but I think enough traffic to make trails through the drifts. Depends where you go. I saw 4x4 trucks at the first access, and I went all the way to the end, to the last access with my F150. If everything stays as is, i.e. no more snow and drifting/blowing, you should be ok.

Gonna be taking the kids to fish creek tomorrow. Would like to know how the road is to get to the park itself? I know I am not getting down to the ice and that is ok. Just wondering if I am going to be able to get within a few hundred yards of the water with a small car? Thanks for any help.

I can no longer call this lake "Fishless Creek!" Fished it a couple times last year and got skunked stinky both times. Went out with a buddy today. Fished from about 10:45 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. Started in 20 FOW in the southeast corner. Got one rainbow about 3 lbs. Beautiful fish. Dark grey face, bright red cheek patches, stocky body. Missed a couple in the next 2 hours, no more fish. Moved shallower, into about 10-13 feet. Right on the break, on the edge of an old weed bed. Half the house was in 10ft, the other half was in 13. Got our limit in 2 hours. The lake is so clear you could see the trout bite your jig, even in 20 ft. I've got a black Otterskin portable, so that helps. Was using a bigger size Genz bug, loaded with as many waxies as I could fit on the hook. Also got one on a real small Northland jig (loaded with waxies) in chartreause with a glow in the dark white back. White seemed to be the color today. Shallow better than deep. First trout I've ever caught under the ice. Fish ranged from a foot off the bottom to 3 feet under the ice. Vexilar was invaluable. Had an aqua view down too. Partner likes the camera, I swear by the Vex. The ice was only about 10-11 inches all the way from the access to the last place we fished. We humped the 3 man portable about 8 blocks total through deep snow. It bit. Then when we moved, we moved farther from the truck. No one's driving on it. Probably 4 other groups of fishermen out there today. One guy was doing pretty good, the others maybe no so much. Great day on the ice, but I'm beat from dragging the house and drilling holes.

I know not a fishing report but Fish Creek has many areas where the ice is inconsistant. Some may be from springs, some current, some just radical changes in depth like where the point comes out from the dam and it is 20 ft deeper on both sides. This is just one area that can be notoriously thinner. Be careful out there.

8 inch difference. WOW Where were you fishing? Is there an aerator (sp) in that lake or a major spring?
