McLintock is on the tv and I was thinking about all the movies John Wayne made and which one I like the most.  I had real difficulty sorting it out, but I think my favorite is Rio Lobo, followed by McLintock and then The Quiet Man.  It's not a hunting and fishing thread, but with this macho group, I thought this one would be OK.  Which one tops your list?

Too many to choose from...but Rio Bravo comes to mind.

I prefer my macho movie time to include old Eastwood films over John Wayne, JMO though.

Eastwood > Wayne

But, in honor of thread, Rio Bravo.

Definately the Cowboys.  Not a big John Wayne fan, but I do love it when those kids get on that bucking horse one by one.

I say to hell with that pot o' gold.

I like any old eastwood film that doesn't have that skinny, blond, no acting ability, eye sore in it.  She was terrible and brought down every eastwood film she was in.  JMO though.

No kidding!  The only reason I remember the name of Sandra Locke is because of how terrible she was, there were the Any Which Way and Every Which Way - But Loose Movies and some stupid carnival movie she was in with him, and wasn't there also a movie called The Gauntlet?  Clearly back in the good ol' days of the casting couch.

Amazing how her lack of acting skills has me remembering her name and for the life of me I couldn't remember any of the good stars he worked with...

John Wayne was ok but nothing was better than those old Spaghetti Western movies.  A couple of my favorites are Once Upon a Time in the West with Charles Bronson and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly with Clint Eastwood.  I loved the crazy eerie music and they made all the guys seem so dam tough.
