favorite drink

Whether it be after a day of hunting/fishing with success or less than expected. Sitting around grilling/BBQ with others, or just getting together with others to have drink.

What are everyones drink or tati of choice?

During the summer, nothing beats a fresh mojito as I am manning the grill.

Is it impious to weigh goose music and art in the same scales? I think not, because the true hunter is merely a noncreative artist. Who painted the first picture on a bone in the caves of France? A hunter. Who alone in our modern life so thrills to the sight of living beauty that he will endure hunger and thirst and cold to feed his eye upon it? The hunter. Who wrote the great hunter's poem about the sheer wonder of the wind, the hail, and the snow, the stars, the lightnings, and the clouds, the lion, the deer, and the wild goat, the raven, the hawk, and the eagle, and above all the eulogy to the horse? Job, one of the great dramatic artists of all time. Poets sing and hunters scale the mountains primarily for one and the same reason--the thrill of beauty. Critics write and hunters outwit their game primarily for one and the same reason--to reduce that beauty to possession. The differences are largely matters of degree, consciousness, and that sly arbiter of the classification of human activities, language. If, then, we can live without goose music, we may as well do away with stars, or sunsets, or Iliads. But the point is we would be fools to do away with any of them.

Mai tai or Lynchburg lemonade. Although a good Long Island tea isn't bad either. A cold wheat beer would be good as well.

It has come to my attention that I like alcohol. A LOT.

Yep, world class. BUT brewed by religious folk - so be warned. Consuming it is basically giving to the church.

In the case of Chimay there is no doubt.

If you are into explosions of gardeny/earthy/floral goodness I suggest this one. MUCH heavier (barleywine) and a winter beer of course, but the way they trapped organic herbal goodness in a bottle reminds me of the Chimay monk's skills. I had one six pack that was 10/10 - then the next was only a 8.5/10 or so. Not sure if it was me or batch-to-batch variability. Not for the thrifty at $16/six - but it's a single bottle at a time brew.

Yeah, that's the great thing about food/drink/fishing/women... variety truly is the spice of life.

I know some folks who think light beers are heaven on earth. And I can't argue with them - because how can they be wrong? It's THEIR preference they are talking about, not mine!

I would try it again... Without a doubt but I am not a big hopps fan and I didnt care of the kind I had gotten.  But I would never turn it down and not try it again.  you mentioned you have had batches that were a ten and one that was an 8.5
