Farmers Almanac

Not sure what to believe about the farmers almanac, but from what i heard on the news it is correct 80 PERCENT of the time. This winter it is supposed to be bitterly cold and there is supposed to be a huge blizzard the days before, after, and during the Super Bowl. I guess there are tons of people who plan there trips and vacations around the Almanac. Not sure if i would trust it that much but the Almanac seems to be pretty accurate.

It also said last year that we were in for 200 inches of snow, it was only about 125 inches off!!

hogwash!!.
if the "farmers almanac" was indeed accurate, more farmers would have planted wheat this year instead of beans/corn

the more food you have in your mouth, the better you can taste it !!

There are just some things you don't do in life. One of them is mentioning the word winter in north dakota during the months of August, September October. Haha way too early to think about snow and cold!

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed

Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forest and fields in which you walk.  Immerse yourself in the outdoor experience. It will cleanse your soul and make you a better person. -Fred Bear-

The two biggest storms the US got last winter in the North East part of the country were predicted within two days of when it actually happened. It aslo stated that the NE part of the country would get alot more snow then the midwest and that was also correct. I really dont think you can accuratley predict the weather that far out let alone for the upcoming week. I really dont know what to think about the Almanac but they seem to have some sort of idea on what the year is going to be like.

I guess: It’s a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

The 200" of snow did happen...in Alaska!
I agree with Odocoileus. Saying "winter" around here is like saying "Grave" to an old person!
The Almanac probably gets it 80% average from the fact that what they predict usually happens "somewhere".  That leave a lot of room for error.

I think it's sdwxman's go to reference for upcoming seasons.

Personally, I miss the pig spleen forecast.

That is the forecast from the farmers almanac not to be confused with the old farmers almanac  which will be out in a couple weeks I think.  If they are in agreement along with the pig spleens and the wooly bear caterpillars and the beaver huts we may be in trouble.
