Went out for the third day in about 13ft of water. Caught lots of small perch (8" or less), couple small walleye (10") and a 2ft pike. Every now and then you'd run into some decent 12" perch.  Had a nice walleye on if it wasn't for cheap reels and the line wrapping around the drag I would have got him. Fish seem to still be biting strong for the most part just have to weed out the smaller ones as always.  Best bites for perch from 4-6pm, walleyes from 6-8 it seemed, would have stayed out longer if it wasn't so darn windy.

Was hoping for some fishing info on springbrook. Plan on setting up the permant for a couple 3 yr olds this coming weekend. Looking for quantity not quality, just curious if perch are biting and maybe the best depth to start.

I went out again yesterday from 8:30 until dark. It was super cold outside, but steaming warm in the portable.  I had another great day of perch fishing.  I managed to catch probably 40 perch of mixed size.  I practiced catch and release, and just had a blast letting them all swim away.  There were some other people on the lake, I love Christmas Eve fishing.

I had a rock solid 14" of ice.

Keep your stick on the ice!

Went out to Springbrook this weekend. Fishing was a little slow, but I'm still learning where and how to fish there. Caught a couple of really nice perch in the 10-12 inch range. Also caught a couple of small northerns. I found that I was moving around alot trying to find the perch. All the perch I caught were in about 20 to 25 feet of water. I was using a small yellow jig with a minnow hooked into the mouth and out the top of the head. Seemed to work ok. Any pointers on fishing depth and lure/bait choice? Good luck to everyone!

I went out again today and had an absolutely awesome time! I managed to get my limit of perch this afternoon. I got on one school of 10-12 inchers and was able to stay with them. The vexilar looked like a Christmas tree! I will not go into all of the details, as the fun is finding and patterning them yourself, but they are there. I will be back tomorrow practicing catch and release, I got enough for a fry today. These small lakes need to be watched closely, no sense in getting greedy. Good fishing all.

Fished today from 11:30 till dark.  Managed to catch a dozen perch, only kept the three biggest ones.  I moved around allot, it seemed that every other time I moved I would pop one fish, then nothing.  As cold as it was, it was still a great day to be out.  I was the first one on the lake, and about 1:00 5 more groups started to head out.  Will be back next weekend.

Fished this little gem for the first time this afternoon. I was only out there for a little while checking the ice. Managed 3 perch, one was a keeper at about 10". Will be back out tomorrow. I had about 6" of perfect clear ice.
