You won't regret getting a Setter, they're great family dogs and hunters. When I was growing up, we got ours from Havelock Kennels in New England, ND http://www.esetter.com/

My Setter now, Buck, was adopted from lady in MN, he's an absolute baby. I really want to get another one, since he'll be 9 years old this spring. I think I'll be getting my next one from Setter Hills out of Willmar, MN http://www.setterhills.com/ The owner is Jan Turner, I've talked with her quite a bit and she's a really nice lady. Also, I like that they are from the Ryman line.

Mine is a machine. Her life revolves around birds. Works at a perfect distance, steady as stone. Loyal but independent, not needy. When i take her out to run in the off season i let her run down the road to a lake, it ends up being three and a half miles and she still runs laps around the house when we get home. she can truly hunt a full morning. I tried to upload a photo, couldent make it work.

i am hooked on setters.  They have long coats which enable them to be kenneled outside in winter.  They are bird finding machines.  As well they have great personalitys.
