I slept in my camper for three days.  It poured and I had 30-40 mph winds one night.  Was kind of miserable.

Either in Beach, or Belfield...I've never tried medora.  There's plenty of campsites if you want to go that route.

Anything's possible...if you don't know what you're talking about

Buffalo Gap campground is pretty nice, but it's right next to the interstate.  Sulley Creek is south of Medora.  I don't know if the Medora campground is still open.  There's also Cottonwood campground in the park, but I don't know if you can use that if you're hunting.

3 OUT OF THE LAST 5 YRS MY FAMILY HAS HAD ND ELK TAGS. WE LIKE WHITETAIL CAMP GROUND THE BEST. NORTH OF BELFIELD. GOOD SHADE FOR THE HOT DAYS IS A PLUS. I WILL BE THEIR NEXT WEEKEND. AS MY 74 YR OLD GRANDFATHER HAS A ELK TAG.

We stayed at the Buffalo Gap Guest Ranch & Campground. Highly recommend it for hunters. Good rates, good staff, and you have everything you could want - restaurant, lounge, dump site for campers, and a walk-in cooler with meat processing, if you want it.

It's worth pointing out that this is north of the other campground by Buffalo Gap. We got mixed up initially when trying to find it - the campground drayweb is talking about is Forest Service and right off the interstate. The one we stayed at is north of there, so it's  more secluded. You basically just take the Buffalo Gap exit and keep driving north until the road ends.

So how was everyone's weekend?  I managed to anger a rattlesnake and get in the middle of a cattle round up.  Needless to say no elk for me this weekend.  All it takes is one cow to walk by and I'm happy...hopefully it'll be this coming weekend

Was planning on going out there when they have the elk hunt in the park.  Does anyone know what day this starts?  Do you think I should hunt right away when this happens or wait a week?  If anyone needs a hunting partner, let me know.  I'm in unit E3.

It starts Nov 1st but if you have an E3 or E4 tag, you can't hunt till Nov 4th if I read the proc. right.

The wife and myself had a super week in Medora. We took a cow elk on Tuesday the 28th, at sunset..Awsome hunt.
We stayed at The Red trail campground in Medora.Nice people . Management of the park furnished the tree for Elk
skinning etc. There park is open to any one that needs full hookups and are self contained. Happy hunting !

Seriously drayweb?

If god didn't want us to eat animals....he wouldn't have made them out of food.
