Eating Carp?

I was reading a utah discussion forum for fishing and someone on the site had a recipe for carp. Not smoked or anything but just gutted out and cooked. I always thought that carp was not edible? Has anyone else ever tried carp?

They have carp and buffalo in our area for fish fries.  Score the carp and deep fry it.  Of course it isn't walleye or anything, but a few suds first and it is allright.  I'm sure I'll be eating some fungus and buffalo this weekend.

(Of course I order the perch, walleye or cat myself)

over in Europe they eat carp on a regular basis. I believe the Europeons brought them over here, bastards! The carp really do damage to the natural fish spawn in some of our area walleye lakes.

Introduced in 1874 by our govt as a source of food for a rapidly growing nation. Known to grow on vegatation and habitable in almost all regions of the U.S., It was our govt that introduced them.

Ive had Carp before. A buddy said it was pretty good to eat, so we batterd and deep fried some....Im thinking Carp should only be used to make your gardens grow! The stuff we had was pretty bad.

NEB,
I hope for your sake you aren't talking about your wife/girlfriend!
The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard
