Who hunts with the dog in the boat ?  And how do you get them back in ?  I'm looking for a ladder system for mine to get up into the kayak.  I havent seen anything yet that looks like I can use it.   Maybe something you would use in a blind or a tree platform.  I cant just reach back and lift her into the yak, Especially if I have to go get her and there are rough waters.  Throw me some thoughts I think I'm just overlooking something easy.

You can train a dog to bridge when you put pressure on the back of its neck. My labs will put there frt. feet on the gunnel or dog deck, I put my hand on the back of there neck they stiffen the body and i pull the up and in. a  lower deck attached to the back of the boat helps alot

My dog will put her front feet in the boat and i always just grab her vest and pull her in.  Has worked well but she is young enough I don't think it would be a good idea for an older dog.

Some of the dog vests have a handle of sorts on the back for getting them in, but I only use a vest in cold weather hunting.  Other than that I use the same technique as the others who responded.

A dog in a kayak....brilliant! Are you trying to drown? Unless you have a diffrent style kayak, this seems like a terrible idea.

That does sound pretty gutsy?!  I can't balance myself much less an excited dog jumping in and out.

We hunt out of the kayak all the time with our dog.  We don't do waterfowl hunting however which is what I'm assuming you're thinking of doing.  We usually just go after pheasants, paddle to a spot on the river get out and hunt.  We don't have to worry about loading her up into the kayak from the water.  But to those of you who think it's hard to kayak with a dog, not when you have one like this.  She won't get out of the darn thing.

My bad, that is not what I had pictured.

That is a sweet kayak, it looks like a fun time.

Well our yaks aren't doubles or triples. I've hunted for years with my last GSP on the back but I always had to meet her at the beach or pull her into my lap. Which is what I was trying to avoid with this one.  In fact this dog is a full head taller than my last one. I kind of like the idea of a step behind the yak, something I can drop in and pull up easily.  As far as the dog handles and heave ho Im done with that.  We built a portable platform onto the back of my yak just for Chili so she can have the back of the bus all to her self and I can stay dry-er

Depends on the dog and on the kayak and the paddler and the water where they are paddling..   My wife and I have  had my dogs in the kayaks with us one at a time and they sit quietly and watch stuff go by.   Once in a while if it gets hot they'd jump out and swim for a while or follow us along the shore and flush Piping Plovers and Least Terns, (just kidding any USFW people out there)   then swim back out and I can lift them back in by the scruff of their fuzzy necks.  English cockers are small dogs, though our kayaks are about as small as you can get.   Still probably more stable with my dogs on board  than my 4 or 5 year old grandkids!   :>)
I likely wouldn't hunt from them without some kind of outrigger.  Even fly fishing works OK  but is not ideal.
Sounds like 4 Yaks is a pretty experienced kayaker.
