I have taken my 2 year old gsp out a few times this year pheasant hunting and her chest gets torn up. I am looking for a good dog vest. I have read alot of reviews were the vest rubs the dogs arm pits raw after a day in the field. What vest do u guys use that doesnt affect your dog?

I like this Cabelas vest, I've had it for 2 years now and never had any problems with it. Also, the back is open on the vest, so you can use it when it's hotter out as well.

You can also trim the neoprene around the leg openings to prevent chaffing.

I say to stay away from any neoprene vest for hunting upland, especially on a shorthaired dog, too much running.  I don't think you can trim enough off to keep it from rubbing raw somewhere.

The vest in the picture is NOT the one that is on sale for 18.00 .  Its something like 35-36 bucks , but well worth it . The one pictured is the one you want for upland game hunting

Just my .02 but you might want to check out the "skid plate". I had picked one up at Scheels a few years ago and it seems like a good one.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?
