Here's a link to check what antlerless tags are left, there are a few but not sure if for your area. Not finding any bucks in 2C or 2B so we've been shooting all the does we can find and have licenses for. Just like all the great buck hunters have been asking us to do the last few years, you know, don't shoot the small bucks, shoot does instead............

For the last 15 years I've been shooting the first buck I saw, and some weren't that big. All the mighty buck hunters complained and said "if you're going to shoot a small buck shoot a doe instead." So, I finally follow their advice, now they don't want that anymore! What the hell's a guy to do? How do you keep everyone happy with what you shoot?

Call me crazy, but no matter what time of year you shoot a doe, aren't you eliminating whatever fawns she would have had down the road? What the hell does it matter if I shoot her in September, October, November, or December? Pretty sure she won't ever be having any fawns again regardless.

Pretty much the same thing with a walleye. If I catch and keep it in June, July, August, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, or May, the last batch of eggs its ever going to put into the system is the last batch of eggs it put into the system, yet no matter what you can find someone who things you shouldn't have kept that fish.

I think we have some undercover tree huggers amongst us.

Nanky,
Those deer were all tagged right? Properly? You know, with 4 tags attached to the ear? Being you killed 4 deer you put 4 tags on each one right?

Well, if you shoot a doe during rifle season, you might have shot a doe that had already been bred. Essentially, making the bucks' time breeding her, wasted. If you had shot the doe in august or sept, that doe never would have been around to waste a bucks time and he could have bred more does.

So we can't shoot the big bucks because we need them to pass on their genetics.
We're not supposed to shoot little bucks cause we need them to grow big but shoot does instead.

Can't shoot does cause they may or may not be bred and we'd killing the population by doing that.

So what are we supposed to shoot - The bucks with f'd up racks and the little fawns? Just so we can have a nice herd of BIG BUCKS And big does that we can't shoot.......

Did you discuss this with the bucks? Do they feel there time was wasted? Or were they just in it for the sex. Two of the craziest things in one post I've read in a while. And I suppose you believe any earlier and the fawns may be too young to survive without mama. So essentially no doe harvest. Think that management practice failed many years ago. I've got two daughters that will be killing does in January. I have two rifle doe tags left, along with three archery doe tags. May consider buying a few muzzleloader doe tags. I love hunting does, alot less pressure after putting in way too many hours hunting for bucks. God bless the does.

Oh, and maybe the does we kill now help promote a healthier herd through the winter. (more forage, less stress on the whole herd)
Gyno, that avatar of the gay boys is making me queazy.

Lol, so common sense is crazy these days?. Think about it. If you shoot a doe that has already been bred, was that or was that not a waste of time for that buck to breed her? Thats all im saying.  I didnt say not to shoot does during november, I always do.
