sledhead, one of the great things about the Garmin units is the software to make your own maps and chips. They're easy to use and the contours are very good. I made one for eastern Montana, ND, Western MN, and northern SD. It's all based on how much your chip can hold as too how big an area you can build into one chip. If you travel, you can just make more chips for any area of the country you may want to visit with contours for all lakes.Bought mine off of E-Bay, both the chip and the software.
