Devils Lake (Overview) - Monday, March 7, 2011

Had another fun weekend fishing DL.  Went out Friday about 3:30pm to check out some old spring waypoints.  Ended up with a limit of perch.  Went again on Saturday and was one short at 19 probably could have gotten another one, but quit early to do some other things.  All the fish were nice in size.  Also caught a lot of smaller fish that I was able to throw back.  Sunday wasn't very good as a pretty good size crowd had moved in and scattered the fish quite a bit (it sucks finding fish right next to the highway).  Still marked a lot of fish, but getting them to bite was next to impossible.  Fished the Six Mile Bay area.  Best advice is to look at your old good spring waypoints or spots and bounce around trying them.  With the deep snow earlier, most all spots have had no fishing pressure on them all winter and shouldn't have been picked through like most years.
