I fished round lake area (east end just off old 281) on Sunday and got one northern. Ice was around 8 inches or so there. There was only one other house there at the time and it was unoccupied. We didn't see evidence of any other holes being drilled there.Also heard about a "hot spot" over at Goose Lake by Harvey. Also fished there Sunday. Everyone we talked to said "you should have been here a few days ago". Ice there was a foot thick.
Then on the way back to DL we fished west side of hwy 20 just south of the city dike and caught small perch. All but one went back. Ice there was around 8 - 10 inches.
Saw some people walking out on Mission Bay just south of the Casino. Braver souls than me.
