Devils Lake (Overview) - Friday, July 22, 2011

Report Details
A couple of my buddies and I from minot would like to fish devil's lake for the first time, and would appreciate any helpful hints and tips on location, and what to expect on devil's lake.  I am trying to start a club on base for those interested in fishing, but havent had a chance.  Also no of us have ventured east of 83 to fish, so any information would help.  Doesnt matter what we catch, fish are all caught and released.  Just a couple guys trying to get away to the lake.  Thanks!

You can do pretty much anything on Devils Lake. Read the past posts, walynut puts some good ones out. If you are looking for something easy just tie to one of the many trees sticking out of the water and jig and slip bobber, if you do not catch fish in 10-20 mins find another tree and try there, not guranteeing they are going to be huge but they bend the rod and take down a bobber!

Another thing is we dont have a boat, so if anyone can help us find a shore fishing area would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks!

Feel free to give me a call this weekend and I will try to help you out with some fish. We have been on a decent trolling bite in 18-23 fow but there is also alot of fish up in the 3-10FOW range casting cranks. The lake seems to be changing/ fish moving every couple days, think it has to do with all the green stuff in the water. I will PM you my phone number.

On hwy 19, work the Mauvee Coullee bridge and area surrounding. Some consistent fish being caught there. Jig or Lindy rig is working the best with worms.
