I'm considering heading out to DL this weekend to do some fishing. I won't be pulling a boat so I'm wondering if there are any spots from shore that would be good? The only places I've fished on DL from shore are Channel A along Highway 2 and the RR trestle on the channel. I'm not particular about what I catch, walleye, pike, or even white bass would be fun. Just want to find a place from shore that I can go. Any recommendations/directions?

thanks gnfishn,
Went to minnewaukan on aug. 20th it was pretty windy but managed to get a limit of 15-16 inch eaters. Nothing big but fills the belly. We drifted along hwy 19 using bottom bouncers and white or chartreuse spinners tipped with half a worm. |

Hawkball,
As alreadt posted there are cleaning stations at most ramps. Grahams Island, Lakewood Bible Camp ramp, and inside the Casino Marina bait shop (have to take your fish in the front door and the room is at the back behind the coolers) all have cleaning stations. They are great. Good luck on DL, have a safe weekend. Luveyes |

I'm spending this coming weekend in DL. I'm staying at the Comfort Inn and was wondering if there is a public fish cleaning station anywhere in town. Thanks for any info.

Fished aug 20th at stromme addition and got 13 walleyes, biggest was 21, rest were all between 14-18. best color was green spinner. smiley blade worked well also with pink beads. The bite was alright, till some jerk cut the line on my marker, I'm sure soemone got tangled in it and instead of being a nice guy they just cut it and moved on, 3/4 of the line is gone.

Fished East Bay,Stromme area on Tuesday the16th. Caught 20 walleye between 16 and 19 inches along with 5 NP 3 - 6lb between 7:30 A.M. and 5:00P.M.. 12 were on leeches on lindys and 8 were on spinners with crawlers and jigs with crawlers. The NP were all caught on jigs and crawlers. Chartreuse, holographic spinners and chartreuse jigs. Action was not fast but was steady enought to make it a pleasant outing.

Thanks guys, found a map at scheels, called a lakemaster or something on that lines with 100 waypoints already marked and the bays and docks on it. Said it was last updated 2002. should work for the trip. Plan on being out there friday morning, going to start in east bay.

fishinf150: Try creel bay, east bay by the blue towers, dome house, towers by the dome house, and around grahmn island. I would focus on 11 to 15' of water pulling cranks or lindy rigs. Crawlers are producing smaller fish with more action. Get a smaller crank or a jointed shad. Good luck!
