I would more than gladly buy a couple if anyone isn't going to make it.  We tried a couple months ago to find tickets and after calling about 50 places across the state we still came up empty-handed.  First timer here too and I would love to go.

Skeeter97- I am assuming the tickets go on sale sometime during the summer because by late oct and nov they were sold out.

Most people buy the tickets for the raffle prizes and have zero intention of fishing.  They are distributed to area businesses and other Fire Departments based on who has sold them in the past.

That's why they sell out so fast.  I think they usually sell out in less than a month.

I dont have a ticket this year but if you look closely you will see that $23 of the $25 goes towards the raffle and $2 is for the actual fishing.

The stub will get you into the fishing part but by buying a stud already sold the original owner will be the one in the raffle.

I was asked about the ticket stub issue and I wrote down the two people I sold the tickets to along with the ticket numbers.  If my stub was drawn I would indicate that I did indeed sell the ticket to a different individual and that this new person is the winner.  I hope this is the case but odds probably are not the greatest.

As for ticket sales I usually get mine in late August.  Somehow my neighbor gets ten tickets and that is all he can get he uses 6 and lets me buy 4 we kinda have a gentlemens agreement on this as I have with the tickets I resold.  Good luck to those who have tickets and those who are looking.

You sound like a straight shooter.  Not everybody is honest in these things.  FYI, the person listed on the Stub is legally the winner.  The Devils Lake Fire Department will not get in the middle of any disputes.  Nor should they.  Something to remember for those people who buy tickets together and list only one name on the stub.

That would be correct. Name on stub would be responsible for taxes if was lucky enough to win vehicle.

to whoever bought the tickets - make a printscreen of this page - incase if you win the p/u it will come in handy.

My q - haug - $4 is the fishing fee - why wouldnt you just eat the $4 and keep the ticket.  I am going if weather is decent - if not - well then I will be checking the raffle winnings online.

Stay thirsty my friends

someone touched on the fact that a lot of folks don't fish with their ticket.  those of you who don't have a ticket yet and are just looking to try your hand at winning a prize by fishing, might have some luck by making fone calls to friends and family or by posting on here looking for a ticket to just fish with.  or better yet, call TRADIO and let them know what you are looking for.  for those who aren't from here... TRADIO is our local radio classifieds that runs around 9 AM every day.
