My plan for the whole dog gone season is to get Skoalongcut a shot at a 130 - 140's class buck.  Everything else is a very distant second.  Good luck everybody and be safe.  Post pics if ya got'em!!!

First year have no tag at all so loading the dog up and shooting some roosters!!  Oh, and drinking whiskey........

"When we step into the outdoors, we have the privilege of standing in the presence of God through the power and majesty of His creation. That makes hunting more than a sport or a hobby. It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground."

My plan is to help my wife bag a bigger buck than her first one.  Then the second weekend go help dad bag a monster muley(if it doesn't storm again).  Then, after that, my opener begins around Thanksgiving for the smoke pole season.  Ahab Jr. will put a damper on the beer drinking, but I am sure I might sip a few here and there.  I am looking forward to those witching hours when it is just getting light and when it is right before dark.

Heading out to New Orleans Fri. (kinda crying) for a wedding and some time with the wife without kids (not crying about time with wife).  Have a buck tag and only the last three days of the season to hunt. Should be a good time to kill a monster as they will be in heavy rut and running stupid. I will probabally be having dreams about ol swampy while I am in N.O. Cant wait.

OUCH 701 Fishlayer!   Same %^$# thing happened to me about 12 years ago.     Managed to get out and sit around  even though there was snow on the gound.  My buddies drove slow and easy and dropped me off on a hill from an  ATV, and checked back every so often.  Managed to shoot a nice buck on the Friday afternoon, too.
Where you located?   I might be able to give you a similar hunt later on when your back isn't hurting so much.    Hate to see anone miss it.
I have three insulated heated shooting shacks (3E2) we could hole you up in, if you could climb a little.  Probably not at least right away but we do have one ground floor one with a fantastic sniper's view that you could use.
If you are in the Bis area and are feeling well enough to try it, give me an e-mail.
