Deer going nocturnal?

Just curious what everyone's seeing this past week from the trail cams. went and pulled cards from 6 today and it seems that in almost all cases, the deer changed pattern. For weeks we were getting good evening pictures and they were like clockwork and now some have dissapeared for days and were moving much later.

We're hoping it was the hot weather and wind from last week. Anyone else see this?

Did some old fashioned scouting this evening driving around and glassing.  Saw one doe and fawn up around Robinson.

With wheat harvest now in full swing, and the horrible heat we had last week, I too, was not surprised the big guys are going nock!   Another thing to think about is as soon as deer shed their velvet (which is beginning to happen), bachelor groups spit up and testosterone kicks in.  So you won't be seeing as many backs coming and going together.

Around here, I think they are being bumped by evening bowhunters out doing some last minute scouting.  I've seen lots and lots of trucks I don't recognize driving real slow or stopped on the roads glassing.  Glassing deer under 150 yards away really isn't long range recon IMO.  The deer seem to be getting the message that something is up.

I am having the same experiences.  Only about 30 to 45 minutes of daylight when the first bucks are showing up.  Hope they hold the patern for atleast another week.

No need to yell Tearbear, we hear ya and are well aware of circumstances this time of year... LOL

No crops being harvested where our stands are, no birdhunting within 5 miles, and there may be people scouting but nothing unposted withing 2 miles, soooo, I'm going with weather and getting ready to shed the velvet and seperate.

I'm with you AFDave, just hold on 1 more week.

deer have been coming into the food plot at almost completely random times the last two wks. 6am, 8am, 11am, 7-9pm, early early am. All over the clock. It seems like they are bedding a lot closer to the plot than normal.

If you are baiting I have found in the past that after feeding them long enough they start coming in after dark. That is the main reason I don't hunt over bait anymore. Great for pictures but personally never killed over bait.
Hunt today like there may be no tomorrow!
