I'm new to goose hunting, went out the last couple days with poor result. The birds I'm hunting are not pressured at all, they come by my spread and are totally disintrested. Is there any tricks to how to set your spread, large spread, feeders on inside, lookers on the outside, tight group or spread them out, alot of calling or not, Any help would be great!

Spread things out, "J" hook works, no robo duck when hunting geese, try some calling, then try not calling as this will give you ideas on what is working that particular day. Make sure blind is stuffed and concealed well. Hopes this helps.

Take a kid hunting instead of hunting for your kid.

First I am a Dad, then a husband, then a hunter.  Sometimes I get the husband and hunter mixed up, but luckily my wife remembers what order they should be in. :-)

Use a flag when they're a couple hundred yards out.  x2 on making sure you are well hidden.  Using a layout blind?  What kind of field?

I was in a cut corn field, there wasn't much for cover at all, I was using some cheap cot style blind (its not very good!) Thinking of purchasing a layout blind, What kind is a good one to buy? Do you guys put the blind in the middle of the spread?

put your blinds in the decoy spread. Try and stay around the bottom part of the U. So the birds should be landing straight in front of you.

I'm guessing your hide may have been the problem.  Have geese been using the field you were hunting?  As far as blinds go, they're all pretty decent - just go to scheels or cabelas and have a look.  I've always used avery finishers and have few complaints.  Buddies use final approach elminators...pretty much any of them will work

Cant believe no one has mentioned this but, have the birds been using this field?

IMO. Goose hunting in order of importance should be.
#1 Scouting #2 concealment. #3 decoys #4 calling

Be exactly where they want to be and the rest is relatively easy.

I do pretty much agree with aggie's ranking though.

This weekend in the Bottineau area was hunting Giants and in the past my flagging has worked very well.  This weekend though they turned tail when I flagged.  As soon as I put the flag away they started giving me a good look.  I got my three but only after stopping the flagging.  I think these were decoy savvy birds from up north and had played the game before.  Save you money on a layout and buy a two piece Gillie suit from Bushrags.com.  I will never use a blind again as I can lay anywhere I want in the deeks and move anywhere I want and all I have to move is my gun, shells and my body.  Complete versatility.  RodNReel

To each his own but, I like having a little shelter from the elements. As long as you have your blind completely stuffed with the vegation from the field that you are hunting you shouldnt have a problem.

The birds were in the same field for 5 days, I was about 200 yards from the spot they were landing, I got messed up in the dark that morning, I didn't have time to move before they started coming in. I didn't think 200 yards would matter! I'm sure a layout blind would have helped also!

There are a lot of factors that can trigger a fly by. Movement of the wrong type, face not covered shinning in the sun. Bad notes on the goose call and even decoys placed wrong for how they are feeding.

For example this past weekend the Canada geese where still not bunched up with most groups under 25 in number. Warm temps had them still in family or small group pods even though the birds where using the same field.

Guys set out a couple hundred full body decoys in a U pattern but had the decoys bunched tight like you see on really cold days. Birds would not commit to their spread. The next day they set up similar to what they saw in the field the night before. Groups with no real pattern and had great success! Simple little things.

So look at all of what you are doing. From your camo to movement to calling even non pressured birds get spooky to these things. Good luck!

Also keep in mind with frost occuring that decoys can produce glare that real birds do not. When using a non flocked decoy I carry a sifter and very dry powdered dirt and sprinkle it on the backs of the decoys to eliminate the sheen!
In my lifetime I have seen fence row to fence row farming and the return of CRP and game to the landscape. Now we face again the prosepect of fence row to fence row again! Sportsman are our own worst enemy in that we fail to look forward and focus to much on the now!
