Found mainly crappie all 10-11 inch, Bluegill 9-10inch both in toward shore.
First time ever I caught 2 carp. All the years I fished this lake I didn't know they were in there. They both went into the dumpster at home.

How is the ice at dead colt? Is it driveable out there? Also wondering if anyone is catching fish there? I know in the spring last year I got into some good crappie fishing. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Ice was over a foot thick, groups of houses on west and east side of ramp, didn't catch anything on the NE side of the east houses.

ice is not good by the boat ramp or by the swimming beach.  someone tried to drive on ice by ramp and broke through.  open water by swimming beach week and a half ago.   not sure what is going on this year.  ice looks bad all along north side of lake.  south side was 8 inches of good clear ice i heard.

Just wondering if anyone has been out there and if it is worth fishing?

Fished from the kayaks on Aug 5 & 6 and did very well with worms along the north shore just bouncing it along.  Crappies were plentiful and medium size perch were a little on the bigger size.  Enough action to keep the two girls (13 and 10) content for two hours each day.

Went out on sunday for fathers day. Caught lots of sunnies and bass. One descent perch and suprisingly 3 walleye! pretty small ones but nice to know there in there. Fishing on the south side and used a yellow jig head with a worm and let it sit on the bottom about 10 yards off shore.

I also went on saturday to dead colt. I did notice the sunnies were a little bigger than last year. What is up with the small bass. I use to catch pretty nice sized bass there. Are they stunted from the lack of food and larger population?

My 5 1/2 year-old son and I fished at Dead Colt Creek for an hour and a half on Saturday.  We caught several small largemouth bass (7 inches) and 2 crappies that were almost 8 inches.  We had no live bait and caught them all on a small jig with red or orange berkley power bait worms.  This is a good place to catch some small fish with the kids.  Last July we fished here  for about 3 hours using night crawler pieces and caught almost 90 largemouth bass with the largest being 10 inches.  Lots of fish but not much size to them.  We also saw the Game Warden there on Saturday.  It is nice to see him out checking on things and helping protect our fishing spots.
