Three of us went to Davis to just check it out and see how low the dam was....
To our surprise the water is the highest we have ever seen it and we were glad we brought the fishing poles. Started fishing for Largemouth with no luck right away. A lot of hits on Culprit worms (Motor oil, Blue and Purple) but we couldn't seem to land them. We switched to spinners with no luck but the a buddy of mine hooked a Rainbow. We continued with spinners and small worms and landed our limit of Rainbows. My other buddy landed three small Largemouths and then we got into a pocket of Bluegills that were hammering everything thrown at them. We caught and released over fifty of them and they just kepted hammering away. Davis is loaded with good size trout and all the bluegills you want. Largemouths are a bit small from shore but we are going to go back in a couple of weeks with the boat and fish the deep stuff. |
