    Darling Dam - Saturday, February 4, 2012
Fished in about 8 - 14 FOW about 200 yards from the spillway boat ramp.  Caught about 6 northerns that were all good size, and released.  Took a buddy out that ended up losing my pole because he wasnt paying attention.  Im pretty sure it was a pike on the dead stick.  All fish were caught on minnows, using spoons on the jig sticks.  It was my first time out on darling this year, and I have saturday was a great day to fish.

Fished at the fishng oulet right below dock from 7am until 330pm.  Bit for northerns were great all morning, slowed down in afternoon.  Caught a total of 13 northern ranging from 24-30 inches, kept 5.  Ice is anywhere from 5-8.5 inches thick in that area.  Everyone around us was catching or spearing them like crazy.  Didn't catch or see any walleye.  Was a fun, perfect day for fishing weather and ice wise.  Only thing wrong is that couldn't land any walleye, next time maybe!
    Darling Dam - Saturday, December 17, 2011
Fished south of Darling Damn were the ice has NOT yet formed.  My daughter and I caught 8 Northern... 23-30 inches long... kept 4.  Took advantage of above seasonal temps... few ice chunks floating.  Did not get any eyes or perch.  Everyone fishing down their were catching northerns south of fishing dock.

fished landing three yesterday and today  .yesterday  the bites were alittle slow to start.picked up a couple nice perch nothing huge  think i took home five.had a few really small walleye  after the perch stopped biting, then the notherns came through fast and furious i had 3o lb fireline on one pole didnt stand a chance actually snapped the line so hard i got a few water dropps on my glasses. but it was exciting to have that happen.didnt think there would be very much of a night bite ,but i was wrong i ended up with three nice walleyes one was 25 inches about three and ahalf that one was alittle skinny for his size the other two right around 19-21 inches were smaller but alot more meatier dont know why? used darters ( fire tiger ,grey dace, red dace, and the pink -blue- white -multi colored rattling flyer)  today different story   got there about the same time fire tigers to start day just didnt work today, went to the white and orange darter, and the roach colored darter and they worked alot better.kept fifteen perch today real nice size two were 16 inches the rest were 12-14 inch range still all great size perch.caught five small walleye  the only big one of the day i watched spit the hook out half way up from the bottom.and didnt have a single northern swim by or nothing today.was going to stay to see if therew was a night bite but had to go to minot and get somethings before  the stores closed so had to end early but had fun today again!

Fishing at dock #3 was good. Pulled about four northerns from around the piers (between two people) and one on the land bridge between landing 2 and 3. Pulled another northern from below the damn on the rocks. It was a rainy windy day, but not a bad day for shore fishing.

Started slow but around noon we started to pick up speed. ended up catching 8 in the 6-9 lbs range. Started really getting nice as we were leaving. I am sure we would have gotten more but time ran out on us.

I got not so much as a bite. The wind kind of prevented of lot casting today, so I kept with mostly vertical presentations. Used mainly jigs with crawlers.
