Custom Boat Tarp - Minot Area

Does anybody have any recommendations on a good place to get a custom boat tarp made within a reasonable distance to Minot? I've been searching and have come up with nothing. I read the most recent thread but most of the recommendations were for the eastern side of the state. I know TRS builds a great cover however I really don't have the time to run all the way over to Fargo for a tarp. Checked with Brian Zins in Bismarck and he's booked out through next fall, River City was out until August, and for my boat the shoremasters of the world don't have a template so custom is the only way to go which I would rather have anyway. I know there's a place in Anamoose, however I not a big fan of the material they use (unless they've changed over the past few years). I also know of a place in Westhope but I've never seen a cover that's been made at that shop. At $800-$1,200 for a custom tarp I expect Top Gun material and it has to fit like a glove. Any recommendations?

Thanks

I had one made at Todays Shoe Repair (Todays Tarp) in Williston a couple years ago.

It was nice.  I think it was about $600 or so.

A nice custom tarp that travelled well at highway speeds.

Only bad thing is you have to tow your boat over here to this mess we have going on right now :)

I'm aware of the mess over in the western part of the state as I get out that way atleast monthly for work. It's an option since I go out west fairly often anyway. What kind of material did they use and what do they do in rub areas for reinforcing and rub protection? What kind of a tiedown system did they use?

Check on iboats, they have them prermade for sale, and I believe they are made from sunbrella.  I think they were under $500 also.

Price Upholstery in Minot used to make custom fit tarps. That was 15 years ago, so I don't know if they still do.

I have to go custom. The generic ones don't fit right and nobody has the template for a Yarcraft 1895 storm SC. Price doesn't do them any more either.

I have heard some mention Anamoose, ND.  I have no personal experience.  From Anamoose.com:

Does anybody know what kind of material Sallys Upholstery in Amamoose is using these days. The last tarp that I had seen made there (5 years ago?) fit really nice, the one thing I wanted to see different was they type of material. The Material it was made of was so stiff and heavy that it was about a 2 man job to tarp a 20 foot boat. Anybody else have any insight?

There is a lady that lives out in Meadowbrook that has an upholstery shop maybe you could check with her. She fixed my deer blind for me last year.

I also had one made at Todays Shoe Repair in Williston a couple years ago for my 1880 skeeter that i dont have anymore.  In all wear places they were reinforced so they dont rip and I am not sure if its the same now but if it did rip he would fix it free of charge.  I had it for two years and never had a problem with it.  I am not sure of the material that was used but it was not bad to put on or take off.  At the rear of the boat it had a wrachet strap to tighten the boat cover down and then a couple of snap lock starps on the side of it.  It never really moved at all going down the road at 70mph.

Yar,

What did you decide?  I pulled trigger on a 2090, or am about to, and need a tarp.  Boat always been in a heated shop so never needed a tarp.

Jeepers.

TRS out until August 15th.

River City booked into November.

Custom Canvas booked as well.

My options are very limited if I need one quickly.  Will try the guy in Williston.  Will also see what the net has to offer.  Someone mentioned the Cabela's cover.  Is it too "generic" or will it suffice?

How many of you guys cover your motor?  Is it really that necessary?  I am thinking of foregoing that option but wanted to hear some opinions.

How about your bow mounts?  I never had one and am inheriting a Terrova on the boat I am buying.  Do you find it cumbersome to always have to detach the bow or do you prefer to do so ensuring you get a nice fit and don't have any issue with wear and tear?

Note:  I won't be trailering with tarp on much except when on gravel roads.

I called up Warrior in Melrose, MN and they have custom made tarps ready to rock but they are without motor cover for $700 to 800 bucks.  I could kill two birds with one stone on my trip to pickup my new-used boat.

Cover comes with ratchet in back.  Sounds like a nice tarp.  Is the tarps they toss on all of their boats.
