try this little crappie trick
go to your fav. crappie hole and catch your first fish. keep in mind the depth you caught him. crappie is a schooling fish and that means there's more where that one came from
now take a balloon and blow it up and tie it. next tie a 4 or 6 lb piece of line to it. now make the line about 2 ft longer then the depth you caught the fish. now tie a small safety pin to to the other end. now hook the fish in the safety pin and lock it. now throw crappie back where you caught him and follow balloon to the school.fish the school till no more fish, catch balloon, go cook some crappie!

What brand of balloons do you use ?    The Great Value ones from wal-mart pop on the jagged ice.

Hell of a good trick though for open water fishing. I hope I think of it again next year.

trot lines of aby sort are not legal in ND, so this will be illegal also, the rules in ND are much stricter than most other states.

Before I knew it was illegal, back in the 90's, we tied an empty pop bottle to a walleye and chased it around. It does work but you will get in trouble. For the record, it was a coke bottle.

the rules are much looser down soth because they have a greater growing ability. which will produce more and bigger fish, a large fertile resivour in the deep south, or a cold sterile lake northern minnisota?

I'm pretty sure I read that is is illegal in MT, which suprised me since many rules are a little more lax in MT(setlines-ok 6 hooks apiece even, sucker minnows-ok).

I dont go around guessing cup sizes either I just know a nice rack when I see one.
