They have an article about this in this month's American Hunter. It's pretty amazing. I have a couple of videos where guys use dogs to lure coyotes to the shooter, and I think there's a guy on here that runs coyotes with greyhounds. I hear greyhounds are absolutely deadly on coyotes, tear them apart!

They were greyhounds.they spot a yote pull the lever from inside the truck and release 3 dogs the lead dog runs the yote down and trips it up and the other dogs right behind gang up the the yote .then the blood bath begins....if there is more then 1 yote they release anouther group of dogs at the same time.

you didn't by chance get this on video did you? I'd pay for that one. Sounds like damn good entertainment.

Here's another method, but I've never tried it.  Go to the shelter and get a young pup.  Leash it up out in a field and let it whine.  Then dispatch the yotes as they come for the pup.

No video, hate 2 see what would happen if that got in the wrong hands..But it is legal. Wonder if mike vick could be invited to the dakotas, for a hunt.He would be in heaven.Way worse than any dog fight...

Probably the best and most economical yote call available.

Its a very effective way of getting it done.  We have done this for years.  My family has done this for 50 plus years.  No hounds now, because it costs way too much to feed them.  You would definatly not want any video of it to go into the wrong hands.

Where in SD did you see this? NW of Pierre?  I would like to get in contact with anyone that has some hounds.  I called a guy in SD that wanted $1000 + for his dogs.

PS, it is really hard on pickups.

A buddy of mine had a small herd of greyhounds when we were in highschool.  His dogs were coyote killing machines.  I don't feel sorry for the coyotes at all with this type of hunting.  It is a taste of their own medicine IMO.  I think the last year he had all of those dogs they killed 60 plus yotes in a couple months.  Those were the good old days...

Yes he had at least a dozen greyhounds and 6-8 blue ticks at the farm at all times.  It was insane and he fed them raw meat.  The dogs were nice to humans but they hated coyotes and coons.

I went out a couple years ago with a guy who was running greyhounds.  It is a blast to watch those hounds run a coyote down.  You don't realize how fast they actually are until you see them chase down a coyote from a couple hundred yards.  He would dump 3 dogs, the first  two would usually take the yote by the hind quarters and the third one would take the throat.  If you don't get to it rather quickly though, you won't have much luck selling what's left.

It looks like it can be pretty tough on the hounds though,  all of his greyhounds were scarred pretty badly.

Over by Renville Corner this used to be popular,    The guys that I knew would probly get around 100  coyotes a year each  and they never ran out of Coyotes.    They ran grey hounds and most of the time the fast ones were the catch dogs and the slow ones were the kill dogs.   Some were timid at first  but after a couple of chases they were right in there.
