Maybe you've been emailed this long series of an eagle making an antelope miserable. Wyoming supposedly. That's a tough way to go. Sorry if this is old/repeated.

Wow.  Honestly, I would have never dreamed they could do that to an antelope.  Crazy.  Nature can be ugly sometimes.

I'm hoping he was ending a rifle/archery wound.
We don't need eagles starting that crap. If they do, there will be a lot of federal laws being broken in coming decades.

I can't see an eagle doing that on its own. Let alone two indepently doing it and caught in the same frame. I imagine that something else made the initial attack and the birds are now scavenging. My guess would be feral dogs. If it were wolves/coyotes the rear quarters would be ripped out and if it were a cat, well then there would be a cat standing over a partialy eaten goat carcass.

Those are two different frames without a space in between.

Well that would  be unpleasant.  Having the flesh picked from your bones whilst you're still trying to use it would make for a bad day.

Yeah that is disgusting!!

"When we step into the outdoors, we have the privilege of standing in the presence of God through the power and majesty of His creation. That makes hunting more than a sport or a hobby. It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground."

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Golden eagles are smart, opportunistic, and powerful. They will take down deer, antelope, fox, coyote, wolves, just about anything. There are plenty of videos and photos out there, a simple google search will show you.

Eagles especially Goldens are fierce predators that consume many a small ungulate! Besides the many pheasants, partridge, turkeys, etc... They are very efficient during winter time when animals are forced into the open during daylight hours to feed.

I'm not biologist, but I live in an area with TONS of hawks and a low population of pheasants.  I've wondered how linked the two are.  And I've wondered if it's wise to have these types of birds (hawks, etc.) protected by federal law.

One thing you have to remember is skunks, racoons, fox, and coyote, far outnumber hawks and owls and account for way more mortality on pheasants, ducks, chicks etc. Dont get me wrong, hawks and owls definately will kill an adult pheasant or destroy a nest, but compared to mammalian predators, they do way less damage.

This is a prime example of how nature is 1000000x more harsh, cruel and savage than most of the other side will ever imagine. Think of the plains of Africa and hyenas completely consuming a wildebeest while it's still breathing. Or a pack of yotes here in the US running a deer to complete exhaustion then picking at it for hours until it finally collapses...

A racoon in a leg hold trap is chlds play.

Hawks, eagles and owls get their share, but they do eat a lot more mice than you could imagine. Skunks, racoons, and fox are tremendous scavengers/hunters and can wipe out a nest in a hurry. How do biologists control a bird population, destroy the nests and eggs. Turkeys and gulls do their fair share of damage too.

Sportsmen Unite! Lets get laws passed that will require the federal government to exterminate any bird or animal that kills another bird or animal to survive and feed their young. (only game birds and game animals of course)  That way, us big tough macho hunters will have more critters to kill for our own personal enjoyment.

LOL!  I would not call for the extermination of these animals.  I just sometimes wonder why they couldn't be managed on a state level.  And wouldn't there come a point when they wouldn't have to be "protected" any longer?  Nope, would never suggest extermination.  I wouldn't even suggest that for mountain lions or wolves.

I thought this thread was going to be something entirely different.

I wasn't suggesting that you would Justin. I probably should have deleted your comments and left the comment I was referring to.
