I heard folks were way west to get the best fish.

52 teams in it?  What was the payout?  Could you have ten fish in the well?

48 teams, paid 8 places,  6200 to first and like 840 to 8th.  You could have 10 in the well and weigh 6.

It was a really tough tourney for most of the teams i talked to.  Not sure if anyone had over 8 fish a day.  I screwed up prefishing because i didn't think we could go that far west, when i found that out i only had 1 day to try and figure out that area.  We only had 2 spots where we caught fish and they were both small spots.  Once there was a little boat pressure the fish just shut off.

We had an ok first day with a 22, 21 and 18 in sauger for 7.91 pounds and 9th place, but day 2 we only caught two 16 inchers.  We decided to sit out that spot all day hoping for 6-8 bites but it didn't work.

walleyes,

Yeah after I typed "could you have 10 fish" I chuckled to myself because I've been hearing how tough fishing has been for the past few weeks!

You guys were there but fell to the doom and gloom of tourney fishing.  Gee, I know that feeling well!!!!!

So how's the big boat handle in her first tourney?

Yeah we figured if we could have more weight sunday than saturday we'd make the money, we were right but couldn't get it done.  I hate that feeling of knowing you don't have enough.  Might have to try the "outlaw" this october... Need to learn the river though...

The boat handles great, its nice not being in last off the start!  I do need to learn that you have to strap things down or put it away before going 48 across a good chop(lost a glove and a couple jigs and one crank).  But it sure is nice getting from spot to spot quickly.

You know the old golf line: "Drive for show, putt for dough..."  I think if I remember correctly pretty much the 2 slowest boats in the casino tournament have won the last two years! Right Tim?!?!

I just want a boat that goes about 45 ish on a flat calm day.  That's plenty fast I think.

And obviously, my win was a big fat fluke.  I hardly can catch a fish anymore.  I'm starting to take this fishing crap personally.  I must have rode a gravy train and sold my soul to the devil.  I can't do anything right in the name of walleye fishing now.

Its getting embarrassing actually.

That would be mine, 115 HP, 2 guys, fully loaded, I can make 47-ish if she's got little to no chop.

Yup, an 1890 XST Warrior Tiller with a 115 hydraulic steer.  Yum yum.  Oh wait, they are bankrupt.

Boo.

So now what?  Have to go to a dang 20 footer to get anything with horsepower.  Come on Warrior bring back the business!!!!

But who am I kidding.  I will never own a new boat in my life.
