Men plead guilty to Illegal taking and Harassing Furbearers.

Case Update

Bottineau County: On February 11th, 2017, Game Wardens responded to a complaint of a snowmobiler chasing coyotes near Antler, ND. The caller said a rider on a black snowmobile was chasing and shooting coyotes in the area. The rider would take the coyotes to the road, where a driver of a black pickup would retrieve the coyote. Game Wardens observed the snowmobile rider flush out a coyote and chase it down. The rider shot the coyote with a shotgun. The black pickup was observed driving in the area. Game Wardens stopped the pickup and identified the driver as Alan Eide. Eide had several coyotes and fox in the bed of the pickup. Eide said Jantz Feland would chase the animals down with the snowmobile, and he would pick them up from the field. Game Wardens seized the 2015 Skidoo snowmobile, the shotgun, and the coyotes.

Alan Eide and Jantz Feland were both charged in Bottineau County District Court. Jantz Feland plead guilty to Illegal Taking of Furbearers, and Harassing Furbearers With A Motor Vehicle. Feland was ordered to pay $2,000.00 to the Report All Poachers fund in lieu of forfeiture of the snowmobile. The shotgun was forfeited to RAP. Feland’s hunting, fishing, and trapping privileges were suspended for 3 years. Feland was ordered to re-take a Hunter Safety course at the conclusion of his suspension. Jantz Feland and Alan Eide were ordered to jointly pay $375.00 restitution for the illegally taken furbearers. Alan Eide plead guilty to Illegal Possession Of Furbearer. Alan Eide’s hunting, fishing, and trapping privileges were suspended for 1 year.

Talk about "a slap on the wrist"!  That judge should be chased down with a snowmobile himself!  As for the 2 culprits:  skin them along with the poached furbearers, and sell their hides to an out-of-state furbuyer!

ND doesn't have a GFP...

You can't aim a duck to death.
