Does anybody know if it ok to fish if you can get to the river without crossing a dike or road closed sign? Especially since the cities are taking down the dikes now that the flood threat is over.

Out for the first time, the water temp was around 44 degrees.  Tried jigging, lindying, cranking around misty with little success.  The water is still pretty stained making it tough going out there.

Went down to the Beaver Bay area this weekend to get the cabin and boats ready.  I haven't been down in over a month and WOW, what a difference that made.  Since the beginning this winter, Lake Oahe has gone up around 18 feet and Beaver Bay is almost full for the most part.  I did see a boat dock out of Beaver on Saturday (crazy Oil Can, I didn't even have to step out of the cabin to see who it was because I knew there's only one die-hard brave enough to fish those conditions, leave it to "Oil."   Water clearity is really bad.  Hopefully that will change soon as I can't wait to give my new Scheels 14 foot trolling rods a try.

I spoke with EJ, (GM for Prairie Knights Casino) and they are putting the marina slips back in the water and will be doing pontoon runs back and forth to Beaver Bay to pick up people wanting to head to the casino.  I will have more details coming soon, but all in all, very exciting to see water levels almost at full pool.

Just curious if anyone has fished the Apple Creek system since its high levels. I've got a hankering for pike but with West lake gone and Horsehead and Crooked lake pretty well killed off, I haven't a clue where to find em. When I was a kid, apple creek used to produce good times but I never see anyone fish it anymore.

Fished out of Misty Waters for a couple of hours this morning. Pulled cranks, caught nothing. Was very nice to get out even if the water was like chocolate milk in color and consistency. Will get better in the next couple of weeks!

Numerous other boats out, did not see anyone catching fish.

I was one of those boat on this river this afternoon. Absolutely gorgeous weather. it was good to be back on the water jiggin them up! Dodging ice chunks and logs are fun too. But as far as the fishing went for me, not so good. i did manage to snag a 14 inch walleye in the belly but let him go anyway. he was still pretty lively. the water was so dirty i don't imagine that the fish will be biting that great for a while. i couldn't see my trolling motor when i had it in the water. but anyhow, it was great to be out, great to see other folks out fishing, and thanks to the Parks and Rec in Bismarck for opening up the ramps. Fox island will also be open for the weekend, but will be barricaded again monday i believe. Good luck to all and Happy Easter!

The boat ramp is open at the Grant Marsh Bridge.  Saw a couple of boats on the river on my way to work.  Very depressing seeing people on the water and having to go to work.

Pitched some gulp jig/minnow off the shoreline near Misty Waters last night. No bites but oh it felt so good! 1 boat came by, a little 12 or 14 footer with 2 excited guys. Water clarity was about 18" with lotsa stuff going by. I saw some equipment (big loader or blade) dinking around by the Kneifel boat ramp but did not go over there to see if they got the ramp open or not.
