Took my wife out today for a few hours. Action was hot from the start. Just trolling Scheels holo perch spoons we caught 42 pike, most about 2-3lbs but my wife did get the biggest fish of her life bringing in a 15 lb pike and added a very nice 3lb walleye as a bonus. Beautiful day on the water.

didn't do any good on the walleye, but the pike were biteing like crazy didn't seem to matter where we went. we used lindy rigs with minnows and hammered silver or firetiger blades. towards the end of the outing we went over to the bridge and cast in towards it with pretty much any color jighead with an auger tail grub white in color. it was a blast. would be a great time to take a kid out, water was clear so you could see fish all over the place. ended up keepin 8 of them that were 3-4 pounds. caught probably 25 of them total.

Is the ice off yet? Thinking about pulling the boat up from Bismarck to take grandpa out but I don't want to bring it if the ice isnt gone. Thanks for the info.

We had a real good turnout for our derby. Many northerns and perch were weighed; unfortunately no walleyes were caught. 1st Place northern was 11 lbs 5 oz caught by Jesse Lystad, Granville 2nd Place northern was 9 lbs 5 ox caught by Jim Degree, Minot Smallest northern was 14 oz caught by Myles Petras, Surrey There was a 4 way tie for largest perch and they shared 1st and 2nd largest perch prize. All 1# even Mickey Merck, Karlsruhe Nathan Kraft, Surrey Blake Myers, Berthold Dan Ross, Minot Devon Gotvaslee was drawn for the largest walleye prize. $140 Bill Austin, Minot was the lucky winner of the $200 door prize. Thanks to all who donated the other door prizes. Much time was spent handing them out as we had many. |

Fished the tournament got lots of pike on the tip ups. All were around 26-28 inches. None really big enough to compete. Still no perch, little guys seem to be elusive this year. |

Only fished for a couple hours ice was a good 10 inches thick had some bites mostly northerns didnt get anything up the hole had some flags go up. Couple buddies went out on sunday caught 4 10" + perch, kept 6 2-4lbs norherns no walleyes had a bunch of bites lots of action had a good time. |

Quite a few people out catching Northerns. Ice is around 8-9" couple people had their cars out on the ice. Only caught 1 Pike about 23 inches or so. Was hoping the Perch would have been biting but no luck. There is a break in the ice by the boat landing so just have to avoid that section and you are good. Caught the northern on a tip up on the edge of the weeds in about 9 ft of water.

Fished Saturday for a few hours. 3 guys in the boat, probably caught about 20 northerns without much size to speak of. We jigged, most fish caught on minnows, but also a lot on leeches. Used Gulp! too but again only northerns, no walleyes at all. Kinda disappointing about the walleyes but the Northerns were super aggressive and put up a great fight. Good luck.

Fished BLL Monday night with two other guys, caught about 12 northerns and only one 14" walleye. Talked to another guy as he was coming in same time we did, they only got one walleye also and a lot of little northerns.
Road has water running over it in two spots, still passable. Road very rough. Lake very high, needed to go thru some water to get to the boat dock. |

Fished BLL Tuesday night, 24 May 11 from about 5:30 to 8:10. all we got was northerns, lots of little northerns. I did get one that was about 30" but most were around 18 - 20" didn't see any walleyes.
