I am wondering if anyone knows what a brut snowmobile is worth. We have one sitting at the farm. Was just gonna give away to my buddy Steve who is prolly reading this, but he kind of informed me could be worth something. The more I checked I realized it is but can't find a single one for sale to compare a price. They were only made for a few years in MN in early 70s. It has been sitting for 20yrs however not in bad shape for that long. Motor still pulls over hood good but faded, seat garbage, it is the twin cylinder not the triple, they were the first sleds to be liquid cooled and top of the line then. I have a few people interested but when they ask how much I don't know what to say so any help would be great, I was told to put on ebay or craigs list and start bidding at a $1000 but that seamed crazy to me.

If it was a triple  $ 1000 would be a steal to some people.   Twin still might be worth     $ 1000 to the right person.     Is this a Brutanza ?  or a Scorpion Brute ?
Life is good.

Was just going to ask about the triple lol but geo beat me to it! In all honesty, alot of these older sleds, as rare as they may be, are worth money to some, and not worth money to others. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Now if it were me...... I would have the seat recovered, sand down the hood, paint it with new decals and restore it completely and enjoy it for year to come at old sled gatherings!
To show what these are worth for how rare they are.... we had a 340 Moto ski with oil injection, for the life of me I cant remember the exact model, but was listed as the fastest production 340 ever produced up until 1998. The reason this sled was so fast was because loaded, with fuel, and rider, the sled was under 500 pounds.. total. Sold it to a guy out of minot that races and he continues to this day to race it around the country. That sled was in VERY good shape, Good original seat, original paint etc, and we sold that sled for about $600. This was about 10 years ago, so today you would be looking more along the lines of $1000.
IF you really want to sell it, be open to offers, start the bids low on ebay, and set a hidden reserve.
If you send me some photos, or some serial numbers, Im sure I can show my old man and he can give you more than enough information on that specific sled and what it would be worth. Best wishes.
