Brewer Lake Bass

Checking the posts lately but yet to see if anyone has caught bass at Brewer Lake.  Has this small lake been good in the past for Largemouth?

I checked with DNR earlier this year and they did not think Brewer has Largemouth.  I hate traveling hours on end to find a bass lake.

Remember catch & release for future fishing.

Thanks for any comments.

Fished Brewer last week. Caught some nice bass.  Later in the year the lake gets very weedy, fish it early unless you like slop fishing.

I love "slop" fishing.  The bass seem to "feel" very secure and can be "stupid".  You just need to match the tackle to conditions.  My go-to's in slop are weedless topwaters and Zoom Trick worms.

it is, at certain times, NOT the 'good' slop.. it's the hairy algae from hell slop which I hate fishing in - and I love slop too. The hairy crap also seems to halt the bite.

It's odd though, some years it's hairy algae, other years it's the good kind of slop.
