Went to Brewer on Sat.
Fished 1pm to 7pm 1 bluegill, 1 1" perch missed two on minnows, missed two on maggots The bluegill had sediment and chronomid (aka bloodworms) in its belly, it was caught 9" off bottom The Chronomid would explain the hoards of little perch, and explain why the bluegills aren't bitting Bluegills done't feed down efficiently, and dont' feed efficiently on chronomids so they 'fill' up on dirt and a few chronomid's I would expect fishing to remain slow until the supply is eaten up... Since this is a dispurse resource, the fishe probably aren't schooling like last year. |

Thank you for plowing the roads, I do not know if you have been doing this in prior years or not. I have not fished there this year but we did alot in college. I hope the fishing pick up for you guys out there! |

Good Morning to all. We have fished Brewer the last couple years and have stayed away from the crouds and di quite well with larger crappies and gills in the evenings and into the dark. This is the first year our "honey hole" has produced nothing. I actually had to swallow my pride last night and moved in with the croud. What has happened with our little lake? People will argue that it has been fished out...I would have to disagree. There are fish on the electronics along with showing up on the camera. The old method was using the smalles float that would hold up the smallest orange jig tipped with a minow. They wont even play that game this year. I am hoping with the warmer weather the fishing will pick up...
I am the one that has been plowing the roads open. I was out last night and cleaned the park and the lake out. If I can ask one thing....please keep your garbage off the lake and out of the park. Its disrespectful to others along with flat out lazy!!! Good luck fishing...remember to keep only what you are going to eat. |
