Brewer Lake Fishing Reports
Brewer Lake - Monday, July 5, 2010
Yeah the guy who thinks he runs the place now is a real dink. Ruined a really nice place to go. He not only a drunk but also a leech. I cant believe they let a guy like that oversee the place. He says one thing and then does another. Some friends of ours had reservations so they went and set up on the spot they reserved and checked in with the host. Later they came and told them they had to move as that spot was reserved by someone else. Its a sad deal..

Well i went camping there a few weeks ago and the old couple they got runnin the place can shut it down, after camping there i realized why there was nobody camping there, they suck! I just about beat down the ol man for the way he talked to us when all we were trying to do was put our camper up in a spot. idle speed on the lake is cool with me, its to small of a lake to be jet boatin around, but as for the fun, yeah they took that away with this horrible crew they hired to run it. i've been goin there since i was a kid because it's close and it's actually nice out there when its taken care of. You can fish from pretty much anywhere on the lake till it gets green. So with that said the ol man is lucky he didnt have to buy a new set of dentures...........

watch your speed when at the lake. hit it up to test a new boat with a buddy and our sons. made it to the launch and ended up getting yelled at by some crabby old s.o.b. for driving to fast. took down my plate and said i'd be getting a ticket. i guess idle in second gear, while pulling a boat is drag racing these days. what happened to brewer? 20 years ago it was a fun place to go, now everyone is to uppity to let anyone have fun these days. hopefully everyone that was out there pulls the sticks out of their respective butts and goes on about their sad little lives. personally, i hope God just spanks that hole off the earth. sad to see a good place like that go to crap.

Slow going on the Brew so far this year. Seeing and marking lots of fish but they don't seem interested in feeding yet. The weeds are just starting to break the surface in most areas, hopefully that will pull the baitfish and the Bass out of the depths. Fought the good fight until the wind forced me off the lake. I still can't understand the placement of the paved access, it ensures a crosswind. May have to opt for the old gravel landing next time. |

I'm glad I never have to come back here!
We got on the water at 8:45am. Literally threw everything at them (spinnerbaits, every style and brand of crankbait, plastics, etc) every foot of shoreline. Every depth. Skunked. Nothing. Didn't even SEE a fish (the water is gin clear by the way). We only targeted bass, so I guess I can't say the gills or eyes weren't biting. The weeds were bad. Looks like Shrek's ..........snot...........gross. |

we hit up brew throwing small spinners and floating rapalas the bass were hitting pretty good nothing over 10 inches, fish were sticking to the shore mainly, need the water to warm up a little more. |

Brewer Lake - Sunday, April 18, 2010
Fished saturday from 4 til dark. Caught one perch(12") in 17 Fow. and 1 bluegill(9") in more than 25fow. Pitch jigs along the whole west shore for eyes and no takers. Couldn't seem to find anything shallow either. The water is a little less clear than I remember it. Water needs to warmup a bit still.

A guy might want to be careful on the Brew these days. The G&F posted this last week.

Finally hit Brewer Sunday night. My buddy and I caught almost 2 dozen gills. Most were in that credit-card to 6 inch size. We caught a few larger and they all went back. The trail to get on the water was fine and I had no problem driving my pickup on the ice.

Just got back from attempting to get to Brewer. The gravel road that heads to the lake was HORRIBLE to drive on once you turned north to head towards the lake. On the curve I got stuck and spent 25 minutes digging and inching my way back to the highway. Don't bother until someone plows out the road. It sucks when you can see the lake but don't want to dig dig dig to get back out to go home. All highways were snow packed but driveable. Sigh.......
