i probably shouldn't even throw this out there, but here it goes. my mom just emailed me a few minutes ago. she was listening to KFGO radio. they said bobcat in bismarck is closing and they are going to move some of the stuff to gwinner.

i know. not that i doubt my mother, but thats the first thing i did after i got that email. kfgo, kfyr, inforum.com, kvly.com. nothing. don't know if it was late breaking news or what. like i said, i probably shouldn't have even said it. but i figured i would throw it out there.

I talked to a few of the guys in Bismarck just a few minutes ago, and they have not heard anything yet. However, they are always the last to find out. What they would move to Gwinner would be cylinder and valve machining and assembly for the skid steer.

i talked to a guy in gwinner. he said they were moving some lines around down there and opening up one whole end of one of the buildings. and nobody knew why. hmmmm.....

If this is true it will be a huge loss for Bismarck. Nothing on the KFYR OR KXMB sites at this time. Hopefully it is just a bad rumor.

aahhh - you have to have a tariff - China has one. Difference is here give that money back in the form of reduction of corporate taxes. Shame on ND for even having a corporate tax.

its just like it is anywhere else. the management stays quiet. you can ask as many questions as you want, but if they don't want whats about to happen to leak, they won't say a word. they probably made something up to keep the people preoccupied.

Actually we are building items that generate more profit then our china counterparts. That helps that percentage alot. --- the issue comes into play once they dabble in the $$$ stuff.

1. Do they even pay corporate tax in ND
2. Even if they do, our rate is one of the lowest in the nation and does not impact whether a company will stay in business or not
3. They get all kinds of breaks and whatever, just look at the "Commerce Center" or whatever it's called in Bismarck, there's millions of taxpayer money that's been wasted just for Bobcat.
4. Too many other things to list.

Hey goose, I used your quote on KFGO.

Joel is going ballistic demanding the Governor talk to him, the Bobcat officials talk to him, the Union heads talk to him etc. He's acting just like he did over the flood.

His old defense is people come to KFGO for the news so he MUST KNOW AND MUST KNOW NOW. Man the guy can lose it sometimes.

He just needs to settle down and let formal responses come to him. If there is something going on it isn't just something you say "Yep Joel, we are moving."

I'm sure organized releases would need to be made, etc. Settle down Joel!!!!!!
