Lots of small perch on minnows. No keepers. Ice is about 7''. Would be alot of fun for little kids fishing. Stay away from the buoy because that just froze over on Monday when the geese left.

Caught alot of perch. Very small. 5 walleye too small to keep. 3 Northern 2lb to about 7lbs. 1 smallmouth about 3lbs. Kept 12 perch about 9 inches. I've caught about 6 Budweisers now so it was a pretty good day.

Blacktail Dam - Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Went out today and tried a bit of everything except movement. Pulled in and just decided we would start right at the first fishing pier and the fish kept us just busy enough that we never left. Caught walleyes on slip bobbers set around 15 feet on leeches and minnows, wind was light so that helped get some distance with casts. Also caught one walleye pitching a fuzz e grub tipped with a crawler. Perch were mainly biting, buddy was catching quite a few very near the pier, sometimes almost under it. He picked up a walleye this way also, just bobber and chunk of crawler under a bobber. Ended up with 7 walleyes all under 10 in and all still swimming, was lucky none of then were hooked badly at all. Caught many many perch mostly small but brought home a few that were 9-10in and just had some crispy perch for dinner. Picked up a couple small pike but not nearly as many as we expected we would, also didnt see any gills or SMB. Thanks for the info fellas.

Blacktail Dam - Sunday, June 7, 2009
Went out Sunday between rainshowers and froze my buns off. Did get several bites trolling twister tails and my fiance caught a 5lb northern on a jighead with a Gulp Nightcrawler. Even though it was cold, it was nice to get the boat out and work out all the kinks before hitting the big water. Found out the bilge pump was jammed by a piece of metal, all is good now. Look forward to any reports.
