So if I buy some birds (chukars, pheasants, whatever), is it legal to release them on private land with the intent of using them for dog training if it is outside of the normal season?  Don't think there is a season on chukars so maybe they are okay anytime but how about pheasants?  Can you do this on public land?  If anyone knows or knows who to contact at G&F to ask, that'd be great as I've tried a couple without a response.  Thanks

i called the warden in fargo to ask the warden from fargo (jason 701-799-2807) said there shouldnt be any issues with chukar but you need to keep the recipt for the birds so if you get stopped they can verify that they are farm birds and you purchased them.... but dont take my word as law, give your local warden a ring and ask them

tyler
