Our first intention was to fish Beulah Bay which has 6-8 inches of clear blue ice but decided to fish Dakota Waters instead because of the wind.  Got out later that i had wanted but had a good time anyway.  Used Smelt under a tip-up and under a bobber in the house about 8-12 inches off the bottom.  Three good fish one was 17lbs and the others around 10lbs.  Fished a rock to gravel shelf in 12-26 feet of water.  Ice is good, clear blue and measures 12.5 to 13 inches.  Able to drive on and permanent houses showing up every day.  Over all good fishing.

Fished out of beaver bay all around the points in about 9-18 fow using slow death hooks with a single bead and half a crawler, and spinners with crawlers. We picked up a limit on Sat, and another 6 fish on Sun. The walleye on Sat were in the 19-22 inch range with only a few bass, and small 9 inch walleyes mixed in. On Sun we had a harder time finding any, and when we did they were all in the 14-16 inch size.

Overall a great weekend of fishing was had by all.

Going to be fishing Dakota Waters/Beulah Bay area this weekend. Anyone with a hot spot, or any of the other info as to where to go, what to use, fow, etc. willing to pass it on would be really appreciated.

I havent fished up in this area for a couple of years, and am looking to get a few nice fish to keep the wife happy.

    Thanks,

The ice is almost gone in the Hazen/Beulah area.  Just a little bit sitting at the mouths of the bays on the south side that had blown in.  I would guess it would be all cleared up by the weekend.
