Best Spinning reel

From what I have learned from working in the fishing retail business, Shimano and Daiwa reels seem to be the most well-built reels on the market.  They seem to stand up very well over time.  With some of the abu garcias and pfluegers, it seems either the bails are sticky and don't flip over very nice or the handles get really sloppy on the reel.  We had a reel repair where I worked and it seemed like we would get a lot of pfluegers and quite a few abus that would come in to get repaired.  I used to have a abu cardinal and wasn't too impressed.  They have been upgrading their reels quite a bit the last couple years, so maybe they made improvements.  I had problems with the bail and there was an annoying grinding noise coming from the gears.  Everyone I tried seem to have the same issue.  All of the shimano line of reels are redesigned this year and have some nice features.  All the styles from the Solstace ($40) and up have the propulsion line management system, which was only available in the stradic and saros last season.  Quantum reels are nice but I don't like how they are so heavy, they have to be one of the heaviest reels on the market.  Shimanos are also on the heavy side.  Pfluegers are nice and light, but like I said, they don't seem to stand up very well.  One upper line of reels I don't think gets enough credit is the Daiwas.  They came out with some very nice reels last year and haven't heard much about them.  They are definitely worth looking at.  They are nice and light and silky smooth. They have some nice features.  The Daiwa Tierra and Team Daiwa Advantage-A are both really nice.  Both are right around $120.  I would definitely take a look at both of those.  One thing to say about reel weight is that you want it to be heavy enough to balance out the rod, so not too light, but you also don't want it to be too heavy.  Good luck
