Just looking for your guys opinions on the best deer Bait.
Not trying to pile on you but we have really reached a sad day in hunting when people have to ask what type of foods attract deer. I mean REALLY NOW????
dill pickles? No
Mustard sandwiches? No
policy sausages? No
Shelled Corn?  Hmmmm!

Deer Stalker 2, that is very thoughtful to share some corn with those muleys.  They just love corn!

Some of you are quite crabby for a Friday afternoon.
Teach a man to fish and he will still vote for the guy who gave him a fish.

i live in river bottoms of 3C and have fed deer year round for 5+ years, primarily to keep the rats from destroying every thing I attempt to plant and with no REAL food source in the area help them through the winters, once a year I harvest a doe, after a long discussion w/ GNF and they're new anti bait law for 4 to 5 units, they assured me that it is ok to continue to feed their deer but once I attempt to hunt over it, it is illegal? Apparantly CWD only spreads with the purchase of a tag? To me it kinda sounds more like an ethical issue and that being said why is either not either LEGAL or ILLEGAL state wide, wtf.

Has there been any cases of CWD where you hunt this year or last?

I plan to do this for bear next year. Lay under the logs where the bait is and when Mr. Bear throws a log I go for the jugular with the buck knife. Only problem might be mosquitos......

Im going to start laying under my baitpiles and rising out of the corn when the deer come in. It won't be a pleasant experience for bambi and friends.
Awesome!!

I live South of bismarck and around here everyone has a bait pile.  It's one giant buffet for the deer.  One neighbor dumps it by the truck load.  I followed him home one day and he had 5 crates of watermelon  on a car trailer and 1 crate in his pickup.   To compete I try to use something different than the others.   I use western sweet horse feed from Hubbard feeds the deer seem to like the corn, oats, and molasses mixture.  A small amount will draw the deer in for a sweet snack and does not bust the budget.

Haha, no I hunt that way too. I just find it funny your so against baiting yet you're all for deer drives. Personally, on our land, baiting is more work. Food plots and a feeder, yet all our gun deer have come from spot and stalk or 2 or 3 man deer drives the last few years.

yeah... i've already gotten lost again.  i can't tell if its you or btr who hate deer drives and/or baiting or if you both like deer drives and/or baiting or none of the above... i'm pretty sure you hate baiting.  but, that's about as far as my pea brain can take me...
Deer drives are kind of a love/hate relationship for me. I hunt both ways.
