Benelli m2 vs. winchester sx3

I am looking at getting a semi-auto shotgun. Im looking at the benelli m2 and the winchester sx3. Right now I shoot a winchester 1300 xtr pump. My dad has a benelli montefeltro and it feels and shoots great. I've heard great things about both guns so I'm kinda torn between the two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My son and I have SX3's and would not own a different semi. We can shoot skeet loads to Geese loads and they never skip a beat.

I shoot an M2 and love it. It's the only semiautomatic I've shot but I would buy another one.

You would be hard pressed to find much wrong with a Benelli Auto, SX3, or Beretta Auto.

Beretta Auto.

That.

I like the X3  but would  not go with the duro-touch armor as mine pealed off twice.

sx3 but ask the sales man to show you how to clean it or you will get pissed off. i have shot both, and like the fit and feel of the sx3 better but if you are not a fan of maintenence then go with the m2

i do like the short barrel and mag extension options available for the m2

SuperX3, what did you do about the peeling? I have a SX3 as well and absolutely love how it feels and shoots but mine is beginning to peel. Really bums me out..

That duracoat is junk - just bought the sx3 6 weeks ago or so and its peeling already. Fortunately for the gun it is a pleasure to shoot and its points really well for me.

Both guns are great choices i think - you should pick the one that fits you best and you are most comfortable with.

Thanks everyone for the help! Probably leaning more toward the m2 mostly because of the inertia system vs the gas system. I just think that the action of the m2 is much smoother than that of the sx3.

Father-in-law has had a Montefeltro for a few years and it was really his baby. Last year he picked up an SX3 because he wanted a goose gun. He now says he'll never buy another shotgun and the benelli is now a "safe queen". He says the recoil of the sx3 is significantly less than the benelli and he loves the way it shoots. I don't think he's shown it much abuse.
