They were doing well in Beaver Bay about two weeks ago.  People are now heading out closer to the channel.

I was down yesterday (Weds) to pull my house closer to shore.  I was out about 3/4 of a mile.  Last week when I was out, there were tons of house out that far and further.  Yesterday however they were all gone but one.  Water all over the top of the ice out there.  My dinky little piece of crap was sitting in four inches of water and ice mixed.  Lots of houses got pulled up on shore ahead of the storm that never happened!  Good Luck to all next year!

If you drop your house next to the road where every one else drives....  your gunna get flooded ... word up people... 2 much weight on 2 little ice.. pray for cold and no snow.....

Fishing at Beaver has been great since early ice.  There are several ways to fish the area depending on what you are fishing for.  There is an abundance of Northern Pike, Perch, Walleye, and a few Crappie in the mix.  If you are looking for Crappie or Perch I suggest using a smaller jig tipped with a smaller minnow and try to get off to the edge of the creek.  Northern seem to be everywhere and the walleye seem to like the 20' depth in the creek channel.  Most people are fishing near the dock due to the amount of snow in the area.  A sled or ATV will get you to more places.  Don't forget the Ice Fishing Tourney to be held on Jan 15th.  Rules meeting on the 14th.  Lots of prizes to be given out!!  See you there.  Good Luck!!

I fish beaver, cattail 15-20 times from 5-15 to7-1.
Like to try ice once or twice.

The storm that never happened................ask all the people that got stranded out east about the storm that never happened.
