Barnes LRX Bullets

Anyone reload these in .284, 7mm 168gr ?

I have an elk trip coming up this October and have thought about changing bullets... I hear these are very good bullets but I can't find any load data on them.

do ur shoulder a favor and go w the the 145 gr lrx., w a bc of nearly .5 and a sd the same as the 168, they'll shoot a little flatter for you while being more pleasant. you wont have any issues with penetration either.

63 gr of imr 4350 should put the 145 at about 3150 fps or so

Bought some 127's for my 264 win mag.  Outcome to be determined....

+3 on the 145's

I would use the closest gn TTSX data and start in the middle somewhere.  They are generally pretty conservative.

go to hodgdon.com and play around. they have the 150ttsx in the system specifically. going back and forth between that and the 140 grain data will give you everything you need to start a load up.

with the length of the bullet are you having issues seating it properly?

i think im at the '6' mark or so for ttsx loads 'worked up' and have never had an issue w seating. the typical 'tight to the lands' than back it off a hair has always worked for me

Ill be giving them a whirl in a 7wsm, likely w/'22.

I used the 145 LRX to take my mulie last year at almost 700 yards, and was happy with the performance. High shoulder shot, little hole in little hole out. dropped where he stood. I'm using 67.2 grains of H4831SC for 3130 FPS.  .005 off the lands. Extremely happy with the accuracy. Spendy little buggers though.

Have a Model 700 in 7mm Rem. Mag, and have worked up loads for 140 gr. TTSX.  Tried RL22 but could not get accuracy out of that powder.  Retumbo on the other hand gave me extremely good accuracy.  Worked the load up to 73 gr. but was just a tad to hot for my rifle, but accuracy was great.  Ended up settling at 72.5 gr. .  Also worked up a load of IMR 4831 for 120 gr. TTSX's .  I think I ended up settling with 68 gr. .  Have some loads worked up for H 4831 SC , but have not tested them out yet.  Also have some 168 berger vld's loaded up with Retumbo too, haven't tested them yet.  Not sure why but I have not gotton any of Alliants powders to produce good accuracy for me, so its Hogden and IMR for me.

What is the LRX designed for? Haven't heard of them until now. I get very good accuracy out of the ttsx's. I'm guessing longer range due to the name. How do they hold together after hitting game? The ttsx in my experience don't come apart.

I use the hornady sst 139gr with 76.5 grs of reloader 22 and they shoot awesome out of my 7mm stw. I can touch 3 shot group at 300 yards. I would like to try the berger 168 grn and see how they shoot, I purchased a long range scope and have not had time to play around with it yet. Has anyone tried any berger .284 bullets and how do they shoot for you. I worked up a load for my 22-250 in the berger 52 gr with reloader 15 and they will punch one holes all day long at a 100 yards
