Band Question

This weekend I shot a Canada goose and it had a band, but it doesn't look like any other band i have ever seen. The info on the band says "BOWLER WEYBURN SK" on top and "BOX664 S4H2K8 942 CA" on the bottom tried to look it up on the net but cant find much on it, just wondering if anyone is familiar with a band like this. Thanks

This may be worth a shot. The band is obviously from Weyburn SK. Not sure why they'd put their postal address instead of a phone number. Try give one of these guys a call, they may be able to point you in the correct direction.

Weybuyrn is in Saskatchewan.  Sounds like the bird was banded in Canada by our northern friends.  FWIW, "CA" is the commonly recognized abreviation for Canada.

I can't help with the coding of the remaining letters though.  Always fun to get a banded bird or tagged fish. 

I would think the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Bismarck would be able to help you with the details on this even though it sounds like it was banded in Canada.

S4H2K8   - - Is a Postal Code for Weyburn. Just like our "zip" code.

 found out the answer! called one of the guys on the white pages that you posted and sure enough a guy had put the band on it to see how far it would get.. guess it didn't make it to far!
