Re:And yes there Ahab, it was a rush but more-so after the shot. I had roughly a half hour of laying in the snow watching this buck before he offered the right shot. That gave me time to calm down. Now Saturday night (the first night I saw him) I was shaking like a mad man. Hence, the reason I made stupid mistakes and goofed up my chances that day.

As I mentioned to you before, GREAT BUCK! Congratulations! This past season seemed to have many more non-typical bucks taken than in year's past. I put a lot of days hunting the badlands every year and have been seeing more odd racks. Hope the trend continues. Wayne

Perhaps we'll tackle a weekend out in the badlands with the bows this year. Going to be a busy year for me but should be able to sneak away one week. To be determined... Jared, Yeah it was an unbelievable year. Trust me, I know how fortunate I am. Glad you enjoyed the story...that is what is more important to me.

Re:Depends what you consider a clean shot. I snuck up on him at about 75 yards. Laid in the snow for about 30 to 40 minutes. He finally turned properly and I put the crosshairs on his mid to lower briskett and let the 7mm kick me. He was mine seconds after his stumble. Ten yards, done.
