ND Teen Challenge a Success...A $20,000 Success

All together we had just around 30 teams for our first year of the ND Fishing Challenge and raised approximately $20,000! This was so huge for the work of ND Teen Challenge! We at Teen Challenge cannot thank enough the work of our tournament committee this year. A special thanks to First Lady Hoeven for her help as our Honorary Tournament Chair! Greg Schoneck, Chuck Betts, Mort Bank, Josh Wiens, Sheila Marquette, and Jordan Pope all helped this year come together as a part of our tournament committee. We are also incredibly thankful to Jason Mitchell, Johnnie Candle, Tommy Skarlis, and Ted Takasaki for their time invested.

I also want to thank our sponsors for this year’s tournament. Scheels was our headlining sponsor and really helped to make this year happen. River City Sports also played a key role this year. Napa in Minot and Bismarck, Fishing Buddy and NoDak Outdoors, 4 Seasons in Garrison, Acoustic Visions Multimedia, and Six Mile Bait Shop also made this year a great one.

Also a special thanks to all the fishermen who came out this year. What an exciting time! I had several Teen Challenge students helping at each event and this was definitely one of the high points of their year. They enjoyed participating so much and were really inspired by the people coming out to be a part of this event.

We could not have accomplished what we did this year without all of these people. We are so thankful and because of all of their work Teen Challenge is able to continue meeting its mission.

Now to the results!

We had 9 teams come up to Devils Lake on an extremely busy weekend up there! Most folks were involved in the Devils Run car show so to get 9 teams was great for our first year.
