Mountain Lion Spotted!

The Cedar County News reported in this weeks paper that several Cedar County residents have spotted a mountain lion. Included in these reports are a UPS driver who has seen a lion twice while on his route. This lion was spotted north and east of Bow Valley, NE. The newspaper reports there are individuals who took pictures of suspicious tracks which were “wide, with deep claw tracks.” The sightings which were abundant a few months ago seem to becoming up again. Is it because we are being invaded by more of these animals, or is it because of the growing reports of attacks we have had recently in the hills? One thing for sure is that this hunter will be looking over his shoulder while walking towards his deer stand in the dark. The article reminds us to use extreme caution when approached with these animals. The most important, is not to run. The full article can be found in the Cedar County News, the October 5, 2005 issue on the front page.
